On the basis of state-of-the-art GPS technology, the GPS Caddie from Expert Golf sends the exact distance to the green directly to your display – with an accuracy of 1-3 meters. You can also measure the length of your shots (e.g. drives). The distances are permanently available to be read off the display, without any user interaction (no aiming necessary and you do not have to be able to see the flag). This is facilitated by a vast database containing the GPS coordinates of the golf courses (unlike other apps with which the users have to map the golf courses themselves).
The accuracy of the data is of utmost importance to Expert Golf – therefore it does not provide a database with 30,000 courses all over the world, instead it concentrates on the golf courses in Europe. For these courses, highly-accurate data is being collected in cooperation with the national surveying and topography offices and other government agencies – as opposed to most providers from Asia and the USA whose apps are based on free aerial photos from “Google Earth” and who thus tolerate discrepancies of tens of meters.
An overview of the courses already mapped is available at www.expertgolf.eu. The database is constantly being updated and extended.
Thanks to intuitive navigation, technically inexperienced users can also benefit from all the advantages of Expert Golf straight away. The application is so easy to use that a user manual is superfluous.
-Select the course that you want to play on.
-Attach the iPhone to your golf bag, trolley or belt (do not put it in your trouser pocket).
-All you need to do now is read off the distance on the display before each stroke. The distance is shown fully-automatically, without any user interaction.
In addition to GPS Caddie, “Expert Golf” also boasts three other modules including “iGolfrules” – one of the world’s most popular sport apps that has been in the top ten for two consecutive years and is one of Apple’s official recommendations.
Practical navigation: Expert Golf offers real multitasking – thanks to the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, the user can switch back and forth between the four applications with just a single click, without having to exit a program.
To sum it up, Expert Golf is an indispensable companion for every golfer.

Why Expert Golf charges an annual fee
Each year approximately 15% of golf courses are redesigned or newly built or the order of their holes is changed etc. This means that the database has to be constantly maintained and updated. Only with an annual fee concept will you be guaranteed access to up-to-date and comprehensive data that you can trust on a long-term basis. Providers that only charge a once-only payment for their app will sooner or later stop maintaining their data or they will be forced to finance it with in-app advertising.
NB: Extending the subscription is not compulsory. You can continue to use the app after the year has expired; you will just not be able to download any new courses from our database nor update your personal course list.
